this Mid Rim world, located in the Vellakiya System, was under minimal Imperial control until the Battle of Endor. Then, for some reason, the Imperial presence was stepped up. This angered the populace, and strong resistance cells began to pop up. The reason for the increased Imperial presence was the created of Project Orrad, which was exposed by Shandria L'hanar. Since then, the New Republic has had a hard time regaining the planet, due to increased Imperial security. The average day on Venaari lasts 28 standard hours. Its year lasts 300 local days.
