this young woman was Hasti's sister, and their resemblance to each other was quite uncanny. They were both working in the Dellaltian mines during the early years of the New Order, slaving away for J'uoch and R'all, when Lanni discovered the log-recorder from the Queen of Ranroon. Lanni was a fair pilot, having inherited her father's Pilot's Guild book, and was able to make the transport runs for the mining operation. Lanni began asking discreet questions about the legendary ship, but her inquiries reached the ears of J'uoch and R'all, who wanted to claim the starship for themselves. They ordered Lanni killed and the log-recorder stolen, but their people only succeeded in killing Lanni, who had alerted her sister of the recorder's existence before she hid it in a lock-box.
