this swampy planet was the site of a nexus of the energies of the Dark Side of the Force. The fifth planet orbiting the star Yartiv, Trinta was first discovered by the Ithorians, but even the nature-loving Ithorians disliked the planet immediately. They named it for the realms of demons in their mythology and left it alone. More than ninety percent of the planet was covered with fetid swamps, with the remaining area dotted by tiny islands and mudbanks. Many decades later, the nexus flared and engulfed the entire planet after Halagad Ventor arrived on the planet, fleeing the Jedi Purge and Darth Vader. It orbited the red star Yartiv, in a sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Several attempts have been made to colonize the planet in the modern era, but the Dark Side nexus drove the settlers mad before too long. Trinta's gravity was somewhat less than standard, but the difference was often made up by the deep mud which covered most of the planet.
