Trico
an edible, fungus-like algae native to the moon Yavin 8. The Melodies have many uses for trico, the primary of which is food. Young Melodies who cannot consume the silver-backed fish that populate the moon's streams must subsist on trico until their digestive systems mature. Older Melodies who have not yet had their changing ceremony also use the trico in a mesh-like mask which provides them oxygen when they dive below the surface of the water their elders inhabit.
