this smuggler was the owner of the Etherway, during the early years of the New Republic. A native of the planet Corellia, Torve had been in debt to Jabba the Hutt before obtaining a generous loan from Talon Karrde. He signed on with Karrde shortly after the Battle of Endor, working off his loan payments. For part of his career, Torve smuggled food and supplied to the rebel Gados who wanted to remain free of governmental control. He served as Karrde's liaison to Han Solo and Lando Calrissian about five years after the Battle of Endor, when the pair was looking for a way to invite Karrde and his organization to take up a legitimate shipping operation in support of the New Republic. He later served as one of Shirlee Faughn's gunners on the Starry Ice.
