Tizowyrm

this small, grub-like creature was bio-engineered by the Yuuzhan Vong to act as a decoder. Each tizowyrm was 3-5 centimeters in length, and kept in a small coffer. When a Yuuzhan Vong needed to be able to understand and communicate with an alien species, they would insert a tizowyrm into their ear. The tizowyrm would crawl inside and lodge itself near the brain, where it would intercept the sounds of communication and store data. Each tizowyrm could store an immense amount of data as well as perform incredibly-fast, real-time manipulation of the information it received. This allowed the tizowyrm to subliminally provide the Yuuzhan Vong using it with information on how to communicate with the other species. However, the tizowyrm tired after prolonged use, and could literally vibrate itself to death if it wasn't taken out to rest.
