this area of the Corporate Sector was where most of the fighting between the Authority and the Trianii took place. In the realignment which occurred after the Battle of Endor and the eventual formation of a peace treaty between the Imperials and the New Republic, the Tingel Arm was located directly between the Corporate Sector and the Imperial Remnant. Despite its location, the Tingel Arm remained one of the least explored areas of the galaxy. Many xenobiologists theorized that the Yuuzhan Vong could have developed in this area, instead of in another galaxy. The Tingel Arm was the entry point of the Yuuzhan Vong during their invasion of the galaxy, with the planets Belkadan and Helska being the first to fall to the alien invaders.
