TIE/rc
a specially-equipped TIE fighter which employs sophisticated sensors and long-range communications equipment for reconnaissance. Because of the additional power and space requirements of this equipment, the TIE/rc was armed with a single laser cannon. A specialized variant of this craft was known as the TIE Vanguard.
