a security device which employs a card reader and an thumb print scanner. In order to gain entrance to an area with a thumb pass, the individual must first have their thumb print scanned. The image is then stored in a special data card. The individual must then have their thumb print scanned again at the entrance to the area, as well as have their data card scanned. If the two thumb print images match, the individual is granted access.
