Three Diamonds Parade Formation
this non-combat flight formation was used by the pilots of the New Republic. Each squadron would break into three flight groups, and each group would form itself into a diamond pattern. One group would lead the formation, and the other two would trail it slightly, forming a triangle of diamonds.
