this robust, bearded man served as the Archon on the planet Vergill, representing his planet to the Hapes Consortium during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy. Known more for his drinking than his politics, Thane scoffed at Leia Organa-Solo's plea for help in driving off the Yuuzhan Vong. He argued that the Consortium should remain neutral, since the Yuuzhan Vong has thus far left the Hapes Cluster alone. Thane and his supporters formed a sizable portion of the Consortium, and threatened to keep the Hapans out of the struggle. However, he challenged Prince Isolder to a duel, after Isolder confronted him. Isolder won the challenge, forcing Thane to throw his vote toward helping the New Republic. However, after the destruction of a large part of the Hapan fleet at the hands of Thrackan Sal-Solo, Thane found himself suddenly vindicated.
