this woman was a member of Admiral Pellaeon's civilian staff, and was assigned to greet Leia Organa Solo on Bastion when the New Republic first asked for the assistance of the Imperial Remnant in combatting the Yuuzhan Vong. Leia discovered that Miat was Force-sensitive, and adept at blocking off her mind from other Force users.
