this alien, a Veknoid native to Moonus Mandel, was one of the Outer Rim's best podracer pilots. He was also infatuated with the Rutian Twi'Lek, Ann Gella. He flew an IPG-X1131 LongTail podracer. Teemto was a small humanoid whose lower jaw dominated his small face. He had been exiled from Moonus Mandel for refusing to enter into an arranged marriage. During the Boonta Eve Classic race, Teemto was passed by nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker shortly before his own pod simply exploded. Teemto survived the blast, rolling out of it inside his wheel-shaped pod. He went on to place in the Vinta Harvest Classic race on Malastare shortly afterward, and actually won the Aleen Classic, but eventually gave up podracing altogether after several crashes cost him an arm and covered much of his body with scar tissue. He retired to Tatooine, and went to work as a mechanic for Ulda Banai at the Mos Espa Swoop Arena. Note that Star Wars Journal: Anakin Skywalker names this alien Teemto Pugales.
