this planet was the second planet in the Tasar System, and the homeworld of the Tasari race. Once a temperate world, Tasariq was bombarded many centuries before the Battle of Yavin by a meteor shower. The planet was pummeled, and much of its surface was destroyed. The resulting destruction of the surface created a large amount of chemicals in the atmosphere, rendering it barely breathable. Craters and gouges now dominate its landscape, but it was within these craters that breathable air was trapped, allowing the Tasari to build cities within the craters and survive the holocaust. In the midst of the destruction brought on by the meteors, the heat and volcanic activity combined to form Tasar Crystals out of the materials of the planet's crust. By the era of the Empire, Tasariq became known as the Planet of Crystal.
