this is the essentially the flight recorder installed on every starfighter produced in recent times. The battlerom collects data primarily on the ship it's installed in, but can also gather information on fleet strengths and enemy tactics. The battleroms can then be reviewed after the battle to help learn new tactics and point out flaws or weaknesses in a pilot's flying.
