a naval commander in the Old Republic, he was a masterful battle technician whose maneuvers were used by the Empire, and are still used by the New Republic. He was at his best when he worked with his friend, Jan Dodonna. Dodonna's strategies were often paired with Tallon's starship combat maneuvers to create incredibly effective battle plans. During the early stages of the Clone Wars, Tallon held the rank of Admiral, and often spent time speaking with new recruits about the realities of war. When the Empire grew to power, Tallon faked his own death rather than being conscripted into the Imperial Navy. He hid on the planet Tatooine, until a group of Rebels found his hiding place and convinced him to join the Alliance.
