this hulking Locan was a slave on Hintivan II for many years, using only vibro-axes to fell the huge trees which grew on the planet. At some point, he managed to acquire enough credits to buy his own freedom. However, instead of setting out on his own, Talas Piran sold his abilities and experience with slaves to the Mytaranor Slaving Council. His knowledge of controlling slaves earned him several promotions, until he found himself as the chief slavemaster on the Council. His physical prowess earned him even more respect, and soon was named the leader of the Council. In order to heighten his position, Talas Piran often wielded the same vibro-axe he used on Hintivan II, but he was smart enough to realize that a dead or injured slave worth considerably less than a perfect specimen.
