this species of microscopic insect was native to the planet Karra. Individually, they were harmless. However, they traveled in immense swarms, flying into the eyes and ears of unsuspecting creatures and causing temporary blindness and deafness. The Karrans were able to control groups of swarmers, using them in battle against their enemies.
