Submersible Environment Module
a heavily-armored startship, the SEM is used to penetrate hostile planetary environments. The SEM uses the quantum armor developed at the Maw Installation as a protective skin. It is connected to a mothership or orbiting station by an energy tether which uses its own magnetism to keep the SEM attached to its base. If snapped, the tether can reconnect itself if broken. They are equipped with various manipulatory appendages, depending on the application.
