Spiral-class Assault Ship
this needle-shaped craft was developed for use by the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. It was designed to get a boarding party into a ship which resisted being boarded. The pointed nosecone of the Spiral-class ship was loaded with tekonite, which vaporized on collision. This allowed the pilot to ram the needle-shaped ship into the hull of its target, penetrating the hull without injuring the boarding party. Once the ship had penetrated its target, the boarding party exited through the vaporizde nosecone. The Spiral-class was considered to be expendable.
