Special Insertion Team
this was the name given to the elite group of stormtroopers and Imperial soldiers who could secretly infiltrate any installation and disable it. These teams were well trained and highly skilled in all forms of combat, and were sent in to eliminate resistance in very hostile situations. They were often on missions for months at a time, establishing themselves before beginning their assault.
