this branch of the Old Republic military was charged with maintaining the safety of space travellers everywhere. Even after the rise of Emperor Palpatine and the Imperial Navy, the Space Rescue Corps was allowed to provide rescue services to registered starship owners. The SRC painted their rescue vessels with a striking red and black pattern for easy recognition.
