this modified Barloz-class medium freighter was part of the small Alliance fleet of ships present in Tapani Sector after the Battle of Hoth. The ship's power generators had been greatly updated in order to accommodate additional weaponry. The Solar Flare was armed with a single quad turbolaser, a pair of double laser cannons, and a pair of concussion missile launchers. It employed the Corellian Engineering PL-8 Piercer missile.
