similar in many respects to podracers, these modified airspeeders used a variety of maneuvering vanes and jets to wind through a course, with repulsors used only to keep the vehicle off the ground. Also like podracers, these airspeeders often required their pilots to operate and control several individual jets and engines, leaving little time for concentration on the racecourse.
