this red facepaint was used by the rulers of Naboo's human population in times of crisis. The paint was applied to the lower lip in a thick line, and signifies the intense struggles the Naboo faces in the war-filled era preceding the Great Time of Peace. Queen Amidala wore the Scar of Remembrance during the Trade Federation's blockade of her planet.
