Bagmim
this alien race joined the New Republic. They had a collective society which, while not exactly a hive mentality, worked as a committee. This led to interesting consequences when they were admitted to the Republic's Navy, for entire ships had to be crewed with Bagmims in order to allow them to make decisions as a group. They are a tenacious race, especially when confronted.
