R6-series Droid
this series of astromech droids was produced by Industrial Automaton shortly after the Battle of Endor, in an effort to recover from financial and commercial failure of the R5 series. The R6 was produced for civilian use during the development of the R7 series. The R6 was based on the R2 series, with expanded hyperspace coordinate storage, and was heavily shielded against electrical discharges. The R6-series was preceded by an intense marketing campaign, designed to refurbish Industrial Automaton's image and reinvoke the demand for astromechs.
