this was the name of a group of terrorists which rose to power on the planet Lannik, in the years before the Battle of Naboo. Members of the Red Iaro distinguished themselves by wearing bright red military uniforms, with wide sashes and knee-high, black boots. Originally, the Red Iaro were formed to protest the established government of Lannik. The civil war among the Lannik was devastating and costly, as the Red Iaro fought to keep Lannik as independent as possible. However, after R'cardo Sooflie IX assumed the throne of Lannik, the Red Iaro altered their beliefs. Suddenly, they found themselves fighting to oust Prince R'cardo and return Lannik to its former glory. The Red Iaro harrassed the Lannik people until Mace Windu and the Jedi Knights mediated a truce, held on the planet Malastare, to restore peace to Lannik. The Red Iaro, however, planned to kill the Jedi and force Prince Sooflie to accede to their demands. The plan ultimately failed.
