an ancient term meaning "school", praxeum was the name chosen by Luke Skywalker to describe his new Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, during the early years of the New Republic. The word praxeum was first used in this way by an ancient Jedi named Karena, who used it to infer the 'distillation of learning combined with action.' Luke chose to develop his school as a place of education and discussion, and was always tolerant of individual errors, which Luke believed only helped an individual to grow. This philosphy didn�t provide the New Republic's government with a good sense of security, especially after Kyp Durron destroyed the Carida System. The government chose to ignore these problems, pushing the blame squarely onto Luke's shoulders.
