Personal shield
a small shield generator that can surround an individual with a protective field. The generator is often hidden in a belt or other bodily device. These shields have two drawbacks. First, they are too small to allow sufficient power for long-lasting protection. Second, the shield tended to get hot very quickly, literally frying the user if they accidentally touched the energy barrier.
