this man, a native of the planet Corellia, was the leader of the terrorist group known as The Flail, shortly before the Battle of Naboo. He had been formerly trained in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to be a secret assassin, although it was unclear whether he was sensitive to the Force. Nonetheless, Pent spent a good deal of time cultivating his "Jedi assassin" image, and even stole an imitation lightsaber from an independent technician to use as his weapon. Pent believed that the Senate was a corrupt body which was funded by corporate sponsors to ignore the common good, that Chancellor Finis Valorum was the root of the problem, and set out to rectify the situation. When a team of freelance security officers stopped the activities of The Flail, Pent declared that he would personally kill Chancellor Valorum in order to put a halt to the Senate's actions. He tried to escape by outflying the security team in an airspeeder, hoping to reach the Senate Chamber and kill Valorum himself, or die trying. In a desparate struggle, Pent drew his lightsaber and tried to murder Valorum, but was stopped by the actions of the security officers and Vinsho Pah. Pent was taken into custody and imprisoned.
