New Melaana
this was the name given to the recently urbanized canyon floor of the city of Melaana, on the planet Soterios. The Old City, as it was called, had maintained the canyon floor for use as farmland. However, the deserts of Soterios eventually reclaimed the land, making it unsuitable for farming. In the last centuries of the Old Republic, the city managers built New Melaana in the fashion of the skyscrapers of Coruscant.
