this Lambda-class shuttle was used by the Alliance to rescue a group of smugglers from an Imperial ambush, shortly before the Battle of Endor. The smugglers had agreed to help supply the Alliance for the coming battle, and were under Imperial attack. The Alliance managed to defeat the Imperials and get the smugglers to safety.
