this landmark was erected on Coruscant by the Empire, shortly after Emperor Palpatine instituted the New Order. The Arch was erected in Palpatine's honor. Han Solo, during one of his Academy training exercises, obtained the fastest time for an assigned run when he flew through, rather than over, the Arch.
