Anticoncussion Field Generator
a device which creates a stabilizing field that keeps cargo or passengers from feeling the effects of collisions with energy bolts or physical impacts. They can be starship-sized, or they can be built to protect space stations. These systems are very expensive. They create an umbrella-shaped magnetic field that absorbs the kinetic energy of the objects that hit it. It protects a starship by compressing around the impacting object, absorbing its energy and dispersing it along the rest of the magnetic field.
