another form of starship laser weapon, the laser battery uses a self-contained atomic battery to generate electromagnetic energy. This means that laser batteries are large weapons, unsuited for small starships. They are also much more powerful that laser cannons, but generate intense amounts heat, and must be cooled after each shot.
