this Jawa was the only surviving member of his clan, which was slaughtered when it stumbled upon the wreckage of the Grey Damsel near the ruins of the Mos Espa Arena. The Darktrooper which had been on the cruiser had survived the crash of the ship, and killed all the Jawas as they tried to salvage the ship. Klepti himself was locked in his sandcrawler when it went into the ruins of the Arena, and was "rescued" by Big Gizz and Spiker. The three of them, along with an Imperial IG97 battle droid, managed to defeat the Darktrooper. Klepti decided to join the two mercenaries as a partner, hoping to sell the parts of the Darktrooper as well as the IG97.
