this dying planet was the homeworld of the Kerestian race. The planet, located far from many trade routes within the Sluis Sector, entered an ice age sometime before the Clone Wars, after the Kerestian sun underwent strange changes. The sun's power was greatly reduced, and the amount of light and heat reaching Kerest was greatly diminished. As a result, the Kerestions were forced to resort to any means possible to survive. This has created two unique groups of Kerestians: the savage descendants of those who survived on Kerest, and the less intense descendants of off-world Kerestians. The planet was discovered by exploration vessels of the House of Tagge.
