this temperate world was the sole planet orbiting a single sun in the Outer Rim Territories. Some thirty-five years before the Battle of Yavin, Kegan was ruled by an isolationist government which believed a series of evil prophesies would come to pass if the Jedi Knights were allowed to visit the planet. There was only a single city on the planet at the time, which was divided into circles of expertise. Outside the city, all land was given over to food and animal cultivation. The humans who lived on the planet remained apart until the child O-Lana was born. The Jedi Knights were contacted by her parents, and the child was eventually brought to Coruscant. The Keganites soon discovered that the galaxy around them was a wondrous place, and overthrew the government to join the Old Republic. It was later discovered that the prophesies described by the Keganites were visions of the rise of Emperor Palpatine and the subjugation of the galaxy under the New Order.
