this Industrial Automaton spaceport control droid was built by the Alliance. They attempted to create a droid which could penetrate the Empire at vital points and remain unobtrusive while gathering information. K-M2 was equipped with backup batteries and memory storage units, which allowed him to completely recover from memory wipes with his hidden programming intact. He was placed in Imperial service in the Minos Cluster, where any inadvertent malfunctions wouldn't jeopardize important missions. K-M2 rose in the Imperial ranks, and eventually became the head controller of the Travnin spaceport. He gathered data on the Chariot and other Imperial vehicles, but secretly longed to sacrifice himself to save an exposed Alliance agent.
