this huge Hutt was Jabba's uncle, and was the leader of the Desilijic kajidic during the early years of the New Order. He maintained a vast estate on Nal Hutta, known as the Winter Palace, and was the de facto ruler of the planet Dilbana. Early in the reign of Emperor Palpatine, Jiliac and Jabba were in the business of supplying raw spice to Zavval and Teroenza for processing on Ylesia. They also hired pirates to waylay transport ships from Ylesia which carried the processed spice, thereby obtaining sellable goods for nothing. When Zavval died on Ylesia, Jiliac and Jabba were forced into a series of confrontations with Aruk and Durga. In the midst of these battles, Jiliac became pregnant and became a female. After the birth of her baby, Jiliac became so wrapped up with maternal instincts that Jabba feared Desilijic would be taken over. Jiliac retained her sharp intellect, though, but sometimes failed to understand Jabba's devious plans. They successfully lobbied at the Hutt Grand Council to penalize clan Besadii for its monopolization of the spice market, but this incurred Durga the Hutt's wrath. Durga challenged Jiliac to combat under the Old Law, and the younger Hutt prevailed. During the battle, Jabba also murdered Jiliac's offspring, leaving Jabba alone as Deslijic's leader. Note that the Hutt! Hutt! Hutt! feature on the Wizards of the Coast website (www.wizards.com) indicates that Jiliac was actually Jabba's father, and that Jabba was his oldest offspring.
