this was a remote, gas-filled area of space. The Empire maintained a hidden research laboratory station deep within the Nebula, and posted an officer at Darknon Station to help protect its location. However, the lab was discovered by Alliance agents shortly after the Battle of Yavin, and was later destroyed by an Alliance strike force.
