this sham corporation was actually a front used by the Alliance to establish a base on the planet Virmeude. Issham purchased the mining rights to the planet, then established the Virmeude Starport. In reality, the Alliance used Virmeude as one of the primary posts from which it gathered intelligence from the Core Worlds during the Galactic Civil War. The spaceport also served as a haven and base of operations for pirates and smugglers who were sympathetic to the Alliance. IMC appeared to outside interests as a corporation making a modest profit from its operations on Virmeude, but the Alliance is careful to doctor its books accordingly. All mining shipments brought in by privateers is listed as profit, and all mining and support resources are ordered as if they were to be used in a mining installation.
