Interdiction Field
the name used to describe any gravimetric force field that simulates the presence of mass in open space or hyperspace. The field can be a small, powerful, planet-sized field, similar to those generated by the Interdictor-class starships; or, it can be a huge, system-wide field similar to that used by Thrackan Sal-Solo to seal off the Corellian Sector just following his secession from the New Republic.
