one of the few females officers in the Imperial Navy, Uwlla was in command of the Interdictor-class starship Black Asp when it tried to intercept the Pulsar Skate. Her career in the Navy began after graudation with a series of assignments under Colonel Thrawn, patrolling the Unknown Regions, before she was given command of a Carrack-class cruiser. She probably wouldn't have progressed much beyond this point if it weren't for the Battle of Endor. The loss of so many Naval officers in the battles that followed required her to be promoted to Captain, and given her own command. However, the defeat of the Empire at Borleias seemed to raise some concerns among her crew and the Imperial leaders. When several personnel transfers went unresolved, she got fed up with Imperial service and defected to the New Republic, taking the Black Asp with her.
