Hypermatter
this material was used in the huge reactor cores which powered the first Death Star. It was first devised some fifty years before the Battle of Yavin, when Raith Sienar and his Advanced Projects team began working with a kilometer-wide ball of plasma contained within an implosion core. Sienar's designs were eventually usurped by Wilhuff Tarkin and used to create the first Death Star.
