it was believed that Lumiya first appeared on this planet, after completing her training under Darth Vader. Even during the height of the New Order, Herdessa was considered a peaceful world where the affluent beings of the galaxy could remain neutral. Years later, after the Battle of Endor and the death of both Vader and Emperor Palpatine, Mon Mothma and Leia Organa tried to convince the government to join the fledgling New Republic.
