this diplomatic conselor worked for the Tion Hegemony. An elder statesman with many successful negotiations in his history, Harthan was called upon to intercede for the Troobs and Hobors on Tahlboor, hoping to create a lasting peace between the races while obtaining trading rights on Tahlboor. His son, Jake, however, was not interested in restoring peace to the planet. Instead, he wanted control of Mount Yeroc. Jake skillfully manipulated his father out of the counselor's position, taking it for himself. Harthan was somewhat powerless to stop the ensuing struggles, but eventually discovered his son's treachery with the help of R2-D2 and C-3PO. When the Troobs and Hobors realized that they could use Mount Yeroc as a way to bring their races together, they asked Harthan to tell the Tion Hegemony that they wanted to work things out on their own.
