Halmad

this planet was located in the Outer Rim Territories, and was just outside the area of the galaxy controlled by Warlord Zsinj during the early years of the New Republic. It was the site of a variety of mining colonies during the era of the Old Republic, with facilities on the planet, on its three moons, and situation among the asteroid surrounding it. However, about 100 years before the Battle of Endor, the mines ran dry and were abandoned. Commerce kept the planet's population intact, because Halmad is located at a nexus of several trade routes. Thus, it held some importance during the Galactic Civil War and the struggles between the New Republic and Zsinj. A small Imperial garrison was put in place, with a few TIE Fighters and, later, TIE Interceptors. The planet was chosen as the "proving ground" for the Hawk-bat pirates, who executed several successful pirate raids on the planet, including the theft of several TIE Interceptors from the Imperial installation.
