the G8 was a military blaster rifle produced by Merr-Sonn, although it was not as reliable or versatile as the BlasTech E-11. It was originally produced during the last decades of the Old Republic, and was popular among the police agencies in the Tion Hegemony and Hutt Space. When the Galactic Civil War broke out, many of these agencies sold their weapons to the Alliance.
